November 18-19 New Testament: Book Study Dale Bruner

November 18 and 19th we welcome Dr. Dale Bruner as our professor for our CLP class. The class will be a book study of the Gospel of Matthew.

Dale is considered by many scholars one of the world’s preeminent biblical scholars and teachers. The author of numerous commentaries, Dale is known for his down-to-earth style of teaching. Dale's two volume commentary on the Gospel of Matthew is seen as one of the best ever written.

For students of the Bible getting to study under Dale Bruner should be on their bucket. This is an opportunity you do not what to miss.

He currently serves on the adjunct faculty at Fuller Theological Seminary.

This Leadership/CLP class will be taught at:
First Presbyterian Church Hayward2490 Grove Way, Castro Valley, CA 94546

Friday 7-10 pm, Saturday 9 am to 4 pm

Here is the rundown as far as reading and assignments.
Dale has asked that you read as much as possible  - in the following order

Dale's Commentary on Matthew Part 1 - 2004 or newer (he suggested paperback)
Dale's Commentary on Matthew Part 2 - 2004 or newer (he suggested paperback)

I would personally suggest sharing these books - for example - partner with someone and read one and than switch. Both of these commentaries I use extensively so are a great long-term purchase as well.

There will be no papers due but Karl and I will ask for a short theological reflection (1-2 pages single spaced answering the question "What did you learn about the Gospel of Matthew over this past weekend?" )
